Training for ratings forming part of an engineering watch, covering watchkeeping procedures, routine machinery duties, communication, identification and reporting of abnormalities, safe working practices and emergency procedures.

Training and competency development for personnel performing engine-room duties, including machinery operations, maintenance assistance, engineering watchkeeping, safety procedures, pollution prevention and emergency response.

Gateway Arch Maritime Academy may provide specialized tanker-training programmes for personnel serving or intending to serve on specialized tanker vessels, subject to the applicable training and certification requirements.
Basic Oil & Chemical Tanker Cargo Operations
Training covering tanker types and construction, cargo characteristics and hazards, cargo systems, loading and unloading, tank cleaning, purging, gas-freeing, inerting, fire prevention, personal protective equipment, pollution prevention and emergency procedures.

Training covering liquefied gas tanker types, cargo containment systems, cargo equipment, cargo handling, properties and hazards of liquefied gases, pressure and temperature considerations, emergency shutdown, purging, gas-freeing, fire prevention and emergency response.

Training covering survival craft and rescue boat operations, launching, recovery, boat handling, survival procedures, emergency equipment and rescue operations.
STCW Regulation VI/2Security Awareness
Training covering maritime security awareness, security threats, reporting procedures, shipboard security responsibilities and appropriate response.
STCW Regulation VI/6Ship's Cook / Maritime Cookery
Training covering food preparation, practical cookery, menu planning, nutrition, food hygiene, personal hygiene, food storage, stock control, galley safety, waste management and shipboard catering. Training and qualification requirements are subject to applicable MLC, 2006 and competent-authority requirements.

Gateway Arch Maritime Academy provides an online facility for verifying certificates, course completion documents, certificates of proficiency and other documents issued by the Academy.
The verification process is intentionally simple. A visitor does not need to provide personal information to perform the initial search.
The only required search field is the unique Certificate / Document Number printed on the issued document.

The seafarer enters the unique Certificate / Document Number printed on the issued document. No personal information is required to perform the search.
The number is checked against the certificate records maintained by Gateway Arch Maritime Academy. It is the only lookup key the public search uses.
The search returns one of three outcomes: the certificate is verified, it could not be matched, or it requires manual confirmation by the Academy.
